Erin Gustafson is a trend forecaster with strong sense of color and creative interpretation. She is passionate about art, color, texture, and sustainability and works to combine traditional hand techniques with technology. She is proficient in Adobe Creative Suites and Kaledo and has in-depth knowledge of fibers. She is inspired by the spirit of the zeitgeist in interiors, fashion, culture, travel, and nature.

Erin has spent her career thus far in the Home retail industry, working at Belk as a Home Textile Designer for three years and currently at Lowe’s as a Product Development Trend and Style Analyst for Home Decor and Paint, since July 2020.

At Belk, she worked on seven private label brands to design hard and soft home products, including bedding, sheets, towels, tabletop, and more. She developed trend concepts and color palettes for each brand that were translated into product, created in-house artwork and partnered with print studios and artists to create art to use across a wide range of products.

At Lowe’s, Erin develops trend and product direction for two home decor private brands. Her vision and design direction has touched many categories, including pillows & throws, soft window, rugs, decorative accents, wall art, tabletop, faux plants, furniture, bedding, bins & baskets, wallpaper, decorative shelving, and bath textiles & accessories. She ensures the products developed are trend forward, push new techniques, and coordinate together to tell a cohesive story. She helps style photography with this product to use on the website and in marketing and signage. She also partners with Marketing to curate thoughtfully styled content for influencers, commercials, web, and PR events.

While in college, Erin held internships at A. Hoke Ltd., a furniture and fabric showroom, as a Showroom Design Intern, and Eastern Accents, a luxury bedding manufacturer, as a Product Design Intern. Some of her designs from Eastern Accents were sold in-line the following year.
